Adjudication is the determination of a controversy or issues in a lawsuit and pronouncement of judgment based on evidence developed through a fact-finding process, either judicial or administrative.

Information security[]

Adjudication is the

[e]valuation of personnel security investigations and other relevant information to determine if it is clearly consistent with the interests of national security for persons to be granted (or retain) eligibility for access to classified information, continue to hold sensitive positions, or continue to hold positions requiring a trustworthiness decision.[1]
