Overview[]
The Act increases the penalty from 4 to 10 years imprisonment for persons who knowingly use a misleading domain name with the intent to deceive a minor into viewing harmful material. The Act also created a National Sex Offender Registry and instructed each state and territory to provide identical information when posting offender data on the Internet (i.e., offender's name, address, date of birth, place of employment, photograph, etc.).
