The Acquisition Career Management Information System (ACMIS) is
| “ | a government-wide web-based system designed to record and track data associated with the federal acquisition workforce. ACMIS was conceived to help agencies make informed decisions related to budgeting, staffing, training, and employee development. In addition, the system was intended to help members of the acquisition workforce manage information regarding their education, training and experience.[1] | ” |
Its intent was to help federal agencies comply with:
- Section 37(d) of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy Act (OFPP), which required that each executive agency collect, maintain, and utilize information to ensure effective management of the acquisition workforce' and
- the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, which requires that civilian agencies establish policies and procedures related to management of their particular acquisition workforce.[2]
