This unclassified report describes the range of cyber adversaries targeting Australian networks, explains their motivations, the malicious activities they engage in and their impact, and provides examples of activities targeting Australian networks during 2014. The report also provides advice on how organisations can defend against these activities.

Cybercriminal activities identified in the report include:

• Spear phishing
• Watering hole attacks
• Malware
• Ransomware; and
• Denial-of-service attacks.
